A Kansas City day care owner has pleaded guilty in a $772,000 fraud scheme, federal prosecutors say.

Multiple incentives were added to Chris Jones' restructured contract that would allow him to earn considerably more money this season than he would have otherwise.

Lee's Summit filed a lawsuit against Jackson County over its property assessments, saying the county violated state law. "The county still won’t get it right, and Lee’s Summit just can’t wait any longer,” Mayor Bill Baird said.
