Walgreens has picked the Kansas City area for a new $30 million high-tech, micro-fulfillment center, according to the Kansas City Area Development Council. The new center is expected to create 200 jobs and more than $8 million in payroll. The jobs will include a mix of pharmacist and pharmacy technician positions, as well as maintenance technician, function lead and other operational roles. Kansas City advances airport concessions bid after contentious debate

A Kansas City committee has endorsed Vantage Airport Group to be the concessions operator at the new Kansas City International Airport terminal. Mask-defying Blue Springs cafe loses case, must close

Rae’s Cafe in Blue Springs will be forced to close, at least for now, after a judge’s ruling Thursday. A Jackson County judge sided with the county and granted a temporary restraining order after the restaurant violated Jackson County’s mask mandate. The same judge denied a countersuit filed by the cafe’s owner claiming the mandate was unlawful.
