Macy’s to close Lee’s Summit location

Macy's announced that it will be closing its location in Lee's Summit, at the Summit Fair Shopping Center. The company said the closure is part of the company's strategy announced in early 2020. Brookside Poultry Co. will close next month due to pandemic challenges. The fried chicken-focused restaurant, located at 751 E. 63rd St. in Kansas City, announced Tuesday that it will close Jan. 29, and a new restaurant will take over the space afterward. Evergy reports record number of power outages after windstorm

Thousands of customers are without electricity Wednesday night after a windstorm swept through the Kansas City metro area. Wind speeds around 50-60 mph caused tree damage, downed power lines and created other problems throughout the area. $750M Kansas highway plan includes four KC-area projects

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly joined Transportation Secretary Julie Lorenz on Wednesday to announce the addition of 25 highway modernization and expansion projects totaling $750 million to the development pipeline as part of the administration’s bipartisan, 10-year Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program (IKE). Walgreens picks Liberty for one of nine $30M micro-fulfillment centers, will hire 200

Walgreens has picked the Kansas City area for a new $30 million high-tech, micro-fulfillment center, according to the Kansas City Area Development Council.
