The United Auto Workers reached a tentative labor agreement with General Motors that, if approved by members, will put the Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas, back in operation.

If ratified by members, the labor agreement between the United Auto Workers and Ford Motor Co. will bring more than $1 billion in additional spending to the Kansas City area.

A group of high-net-worth individuals and family offices called Collaborative Capital formed its own fund earlier this year to invest in startups. Its portfolio already includes four companies, including two in Kansas City.
