A community development corporation tied to Central Bank of Kansas City was awarded $35 million in New Markets Tax Credits, a tool aimed at building up distressed areas.

Spring will bring area travelers a new airport terminal. It also will bring new nonstop flights from Southwest Airlines.
The airline’s spring schedule includes nonstop service from Kansas City to Albuquerque and Indianapolis, the Kansas City Aviation Department announced on Twitter. Southwest is restoring the routes, which were removed from the schedule after the Covid-19 pandemic hit, according to the department.
