The metro can take pride in what the Current’s stadium can do for Kansas City — and in what it can do to advance women’s sports worldwide as the first purpose-built stadium for a pro women's team.

The company is building up a group of cold-storage facilities, including a big project being built in south Kansas City.

An agreement would give a big creditors group a majority stake in the reorganized company, but wipe out its common stock.

Leaders who previously were involved in efforts to reduce violence say there's a role — and an obligation — for businesses to study and address the root causes behind Kansas City's homicides and mass shooting. “I think this is an opportunity for a broader conversation in our community, and if we just go back to normal, we’ll have missed it,” one says.

The city's new bids include the use of CPKC Stadium, which will open next month.

The contract is part of a new federal initiative to use lower-greenhouse building materials.
