MacKenzie Scott donates to two more KC nonprofits, giving $6M
Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott donated a total of $6 million to two more Kansas City nonprofits.
Kansas City Teacher Residency, a nonprofit that trains teachers through a residency program affiliated with AmeriCorps, received $5 million. The Urban League of Greater Kansas City got $1 million.
KCTR will use the $5 million to recruit, train and retain more diverse teachers, it said in a release.
“We are so thankful for this transformative gift," CEO and founder Charles King said in the release.…
