The Minority-Owned Businesses List has been a staple of the Kansas City Business Journal's research offerings since 1985.
This year, we've broken down the monolithic ranking to spotlight companies that are majority-owned by people of color. Specifically, our definition of minority includes individuals who identify as Black or African American, Asian, American Indian and Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Other Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latino.
