Kansas will tap newly legal sports betting to help it lure the Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas legislators approved — and Gov. Laura Kelly is expected to sign — a bill legalizing sports betting, and most of the revenue it produces will go into a kitty to help get the Kansas City Chiefs to jump the state line.
People could place bets using apps or going to state-owned casinos or as many as 50 other locations, with a 10% tax accompanying each bet, The Associated Press reports. The legislation directs 80% of that revenue into a fund supporting incentives to attract pro sports teams.…
