FAA computer failure leads to more than 100 flight delays, 17 cancellations at KCI
The federal government grounded departures at Kansas City International Airport and nationwide Wednesday morning for several hours because of a critical overnight system outage. The problem scrambled the schedules for dozens of flights locally.
As of 2:20 p.m., 103 flights had been delayed, and 17 have been canceled at KCI (Code: MCI), according to flight-tracking website Flight Aware. That number had been increasing throughout the morning.
