CBO: 24 million people would lose insurance under Republican plan

House Republicans' American Health Care Act would cost 24 million more people to lose their health insurance in a decade, according to the highly anticipated Congressional Budget Office report [PDF]. The CBO also found that the legislation would reduce federal deficits by $337 billion from 2017-2026. The largest savings would come from reductions in outlays for Medicaid and the elimination of the Affordable Care Act's subsidies. Gordmans bankruptcy hits KC with six store closings

Kansas City's six Gordmans stores will close as a result of the regional off-price department store chain's filing for bankruptcy. Omaha-based Gordmans Stores Inc. (Nasdaq: GMAN) announced Monday that it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and plans to liquidate its inventory and assets. RadioShack successor’s bankruptcy may disrupt Sprint’s retail plans

Sprint Corp.'s store-within-a-store model with RadioShack may soon see a shakeup. According to a report by Bloomberg, RadioShack's successor is expected to file for bankruptcy. Citing anonymous sources, Bloomberg said General Wireless Operations may file for bankruptcy in the coming days, which will likely result in liquidation. KC fitness tech for astronauts will come to Earth soon

After NASA launched his fitness tech into space, Paul Francis is looking to bring it back to Earth. A local inventor, Francis built his Kansas City startup, OYO Fitness, around portable resistance devices.
