Vacant Cerner campus in KCK rezoned for partial apartment conversion, commercial space

Unified Government commissioners have positioned the former Cerner Continuous Campus in Kansas City, Kansas, for a partial mixed-use conversion, with as many as 232 apartments in one office tower and future commercial outparcels in place of surplus parking.

Missouri’s largest project site already has its first potential taker

An unnamed international retail company could become the first occupant within Hunt Midwest's KCI 29 Logistics Park, just northeast of Kansas City International Airport. Port KC commissioners on Wednesday voted in favor of a personal property tax incentive for a large distribution center the company is considering within the 2,136-acre park.

The $217.5 million One North development in North Kansas City is envisioned with a new entertainment attraction — an aerial park with a vertical rope climbing and ziplines course — as it continues courting a grocery store and fast-casual restaurants to fill in remaining land parcels. Some of KC’s largest apartment plans could lose affordable housing exemption in 2024

Seven apartment proposals, totaling almost 2,000 units and $622 million in investment, have a reprieve from Kansas City's affordable housing requirements, based on when they applied for incentives. However, if they don't resolve their incentive bids by next April, they will face some tough choices.
