New KC measure could grant Cordish development rights for Strata office tower site

A local joint venture in late 2019 secured city incentives to build a 25-story office project called Strata above existing retail southwest of 13th and Main streets. Kansas City officials now may reassign development air rights for the prime site to a builder with significant experience in Downtown.

A ‘Justice League’ assembles in KC to save the Seiden’s Furs building

The Seiden's Furs building has been down for years, but despite a close brush with demolition, the 1874 historic structure is not yet out of the running for a productive reuse as retail or restaurant space. Local developer Chris Sally is assembling a team to give the building its best possible shot at preservation.

Citihome KC plan at 6th & Prospect will become first to meet KC’s affordable housing set-asides

A new $14.2 million apartment proposal, Citihome KC, will see 78 units and 9,300 square feet of commercial space built on a grassy corner at 6th Street and Prospect Avenue. The plan is set to become the first to meet Kansas City's affordable housing set-aside policy more than two years after its introduction.

VanTrust move primes KC’s East Village for potential sale as Royals downtown ballpark

Hyatt House hotel becomes first test for KC ordinance setting building timelines for incentive-backed projects

City officials agreed to extend that timeline two years due to financial difficulties stemming from the hotel's original planned lender.
