Clay County voters overwhelmingly oppose sales tax for Royals stadium in NKC, survey finds

A recent survey suggests that a new sales tax to support a Royals stadium in North Kansas City would face significant headwinds from Clay County voters, at least at present. The team intends to confirm in late September whether it plans to build a $2 billion-plus stadium and mixed-use district in Downtown's East Village or in North Kansas City.

Architect Populous starts soil boring on Royals stadium site in East Village

The Kansas City Royals plan to announce either Kansas City's East Village or central North Kansas City as the final site for a potential $2 billion ballpark and mixed-use district in late September. In the meantime, the team's lead architect is digging deep — literally — into the site in Jackson County.

Lane4 Property Group presents $140M Plaza apartments for Port KC incentives

Lane4 Property Group scored planners' approval in August 2022 for a 13-story, 319-apartment complex near the Country Club Plaza, including the site of the original JJ's Restaurant. In recent months, the developer has worked to finalize property tax exemption terms with the Port Authority of Kansas City, which could take up the bid this month.

Two WeWork spaces in KC could take a hit from coworking company’s ‘substantial’ business doubts

Ohio developer will enter KC market with upcoming Northland apartment communities

A new-to-market Independence, Ohio, developer that focuses on single-story, two-bedroom apartment neighborhoods says it potentially could build several thousand Kansas City units over time. The first such project could break ground in the Tiffany Springs area soon.
