City planners sign off on a plan to build a mix of for-rent single-family houses and townhomes on property vacant since its annexation 50-plus years ago.

The company, which already has expanded twice in Edwardsville, occupies 450,000 square feet. It seeks $30 million in bonds to back a 50,000-square-foot addition.
