Alcove Development is planning two apartment complexes in De Soto that will bring more than 400 units to the area surrounding the Panasonic battery plant.

At one time, the site was to hold twin office towers. Now, it's apartments that will be about a mile from one of Overland Park's busiest intersections.

According to city staff, only one project plan has been submitted for the proposed STAR bond district in Olathe.

This is the second extension that the UG has granted Sunflower Development for the $40 million apartment project.
