Foulston Siefkin LLP named a new leader for its Kansas City office, replacing Tony Rupp, who remains at the company.

After nearly 50 years at Kansas City law firms, a prominent local attorney launched an alternative dispute resolution firm.

J. Rieger & Co. took home lots of hardware from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the largest competition of its kind. Two other Kansas City-area distilleries also were recognized.

KC Bier Co.'s products now can be found in St. Louis after the regional craft brewery signed a distribution agreement for the area. The brewer also announced that it will make a limited issue of a beer normally available only at J. Rieger & Co.'s distillery.

After Brent Giles left to take a new job, Bank of Blue Valley named Doug Kohlbeck as its new CEO and Will Fox as its new president. Giles previously had filled both roles as the bank dealt with shareholder turmoil.

Peoples State Bank now has a new brand that reflects its move to focusing on land used for recreation.
