Celebrities will return to KC in person for 2022 Big Slick event
Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, David Koechner and Eric Stonestreet will return to Kansas City this spring to host the Big Slick in person.
The popular charity event has been held virtually for the past two years during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Big Slick is scheduled for June 24-25. It will include a celebrity classic baseball game at Kauffman Stadium. Anyone who purchases a ticket for the Kansas City Royals-A’s game on June 24 will also be able to watch the celebrity baseball game.

After canceling two years in a row, Boulevardia unveils 2022 lineup
After back-to-back years of the festival being canceled, Boulevardia is returning in 2022 with some big names headlining the show.
The two-day festival, which celebrates craft beer and live music, will feature performances by Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Dashboard Confessional, Dayglow and Jenny Lewis.

Developer adds townhomes, 5-story condo to mixed-use proposal in Lenexa
On Tuesday, the Lenexa City Council is scheduled to vote on a revised site plan for a 46-acre mixed-use development at the southeast corner of Prairie Star Parkway and Ridgeview Road.
Plans for the Vista Village project include seven retail buildings, 119 townhomes and a five-story, 207-unit condominium.

Impending winter weather brings travel advisory at KCI
There’s snow in the forecast Friday night into Saturday for the Kansas City area.
However, the system could bring snow across the Midwest, and that has Southwest Airlines issuing a travel advisory ahead of the potential weather.
The airline said based on the forecast service for the following cities could be disrupted on Jan. 14 through Jan. 15:

As staff isolate with Covid, KC hospital asks retired nurses to return to work
On Wednesday, Children’s Mercy had 314 staff members isolating at home with confirmed cases of Covid-19.
“Prior to Omicron we had peaked in the 20s. So being in the 30s and being in the 30s consistently is definitely a high number for us,” said Dr. Jennifer Watts, chief emergency management medical officer at Children’s Mercy said.
