Worlds of Fun, one of KC’s biggest seasonal employers, will hire 3,000 for 50th anniversary season

Worlds of Fun is launching a huge hiring effort as it prepares to embark this spring on its 50th anniversary season. The 235-acre theme park, waterpark and resort plans to hire more than 3,000 seasonal employees. According to a Monday release, Worlds of Fun "anticipates filling most of those roles during a weeklong hiring blitz to be held Feb. 18-24 as part of the largest-ever recruiting campaign by Worlds of Fun's parent company, Cedar Fair Entertainment Co." Chiefs’ AFC Championship streak brings another blitz of private jets to downtown airport

The Kansas City Chiefs' run of five consecutive AFC Championship games brought in another round of higher-than-normal air traffic to the city's first airport. Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport, which was dedicated by Charles Lindbergh in 1927, is a destination for private and charter jet traffic. Acquisitive Lenexa company turns four subsidiaries into one with 325 employees
