Kansas Chamber selects 8 people from KC metro to newest leadership class

Eight people from the Kansas City area have been chosen to be members of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce's 2023 Leadership Kansas class. Longtime Brookside boutique World’s Window fails to sell, will shutter this month

After almost 39 years, World's Window will close its store in Kansas City's Brookside neighborhood. Co-owners Jan and Lonnie Buerge spent several months looking for a buyer for the boutique, but according to a Monday release they've made the decision to close the store at 332 W. 63rd St. instead. After more than 16 years under the same executive leadership, Edwardsville will need a new rudder in a few months. The Wyandotte County city of about 4,700 people has relied on City Manager Michael Webb since 2007 to steer it through a 2006 municipal "bankruptcy" and all the way to an AA- bond rating.
