Walmart will close a Neighborhood Market store in Overland Park

The world's biggest retailer will shutter a Walmart Neighborhood Market in Overland Park. Located on the southeast corner of Metcalf Avenue and 103rd Street, the store has served as an anchor for the Metcalf 103 shopping complex since 2003, the Shawnee Mission Post reports. The location at 10303 Metcalf Ave. will close on June 2. A company statement cited by the website said the store "hasn't performed as well as we'd hoped."
