The Missouri Department of Transportation will break ground Wednesday on the new Buck O'Neil Bridge over the Missouri River.
The groundbreaking ceremony will feature Gov. Mike Parson, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, Jackson County Executive Frank White and Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce Chair Ed Ford.
Opened in 1956, the current bridge carries about 50,000 vehicles over the Missouri River every day.
